For Parents |
Hello Moms, Dads, Guardians and Caregivers!
Welcome to WHATMOVESU.com the website for the national campaign co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the National Football League.
This privacy policy explains our information collection and use practices for online users, including kids under the age of thirteen. This privacy policy also applies to information submitted by kids using the website at WHATMOVESU.com and information submitted by you about yourself and your kids for participation on our website.
When this privacy policy uses the term “personally identifiable information,” we mean information that identifies a particular individual, such as a child’s full name, street address or email address. When personally identifiable information is associated with other information, such as a favorite team or player, it also becomes personally identifiable information for the purposes of this privacy policy.
Please take the time to review this policy so that you know exactly how we collect and use information, and how you can review or request that we delete your child’s information. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us at help@WHATMOVESU.com.
At WHATMOVESU.com, boys and girls can play games, win prizes, enter contests, keep an activity journal, learn more about how to keep active, and kids ages 13 and over can create and share blogs and other messages.
WHATMOVESU.com operates in conjunction with participating teachers in numerous schools to motivate young people to be more physically active. Parents can also play an important role by instilling healthy habits and a lifelong love of ‘being active.’ As part of this campaign, many of the activities on WHATMOVESU.com are designed to get the whole family involved in being active together. |
Collection of Personally Identifiable Information We do not ask for any personally identifiable information beyond what is reasonably necessary for your child to participate in the activities and contests offered at WHATMOVESU.com.
|
|
Kids can surf portions of the WHATMOVESU.com website and view limited content without any personally identifiable information being collected. We do not collect personally identifiable information from kids unless they register. In order to register for WHATMOVESU.com and participate in most of the activities available on the website, however, users must complete the registration form. |
Registration During registration, kids are asked to provide their contact information, including their full name, password, address and phone number. We use this information to send them rewards that they may earn while on the website and to contact them regarding promotions and contests offered by WHATMOVESU.com's operators. Kids also have the option to provide other information about themselves, including their sex, school information, grade, teacher, local NFL team, favorite NFL team, and YET (Youth Education Town) code. We use this information to tailor promotions and contests to users, to allow users to take part in activities involving their school, and for statistical analysis purposes. Kids can also let WHATMOVESU.com know how they heard about the website and whether they were referred by another WHATMOVESU.com registered user, so that we can better learn how people hear about our website.

Blogs and Other Message Boards Some activities offered on WHATMOVESU.com, such as creating a blog or sharing your favorite activity, might disclose some of your child’s personally identifiable information to third-parties on the Internet. Participation in these activities however is limited to kids ages 13 and over.
To take part in creating and sharing a blog, we ask kids to create a personal profile that includes: an alias, their grade and age, and other information that they would like to share about themselves, including their hobbies, pets, activities, and favorite things. This information is shared with other participants on the website when your child submits a message or blog entry.
Other message areas may request similar information, including, in addition to the information requested above, their home town, and may also allow kids to submit a picture (for example, kids may be able to submit a picture of them performing their favorite activity). If we ask for a picture, we will ask that you sign a separate consent form that will be downloadable from our website. |
Activity Journal We encourage kids to update their personal activity journal on a regular basis to keep track of how they are keeping active. Information recorded on the activity journal is not displayed publicly. We use this information for statistical analysis to see how kids on WHATMOVESU.com are keeping active. We may also use this information to award prizes or sweepstakes entries. |
News and Updates If they're interested, kids may sign up for a variety of WHATMOVESU.com's email updates. These updates will allow kids to receive an email news update about new features, promotions and activities on WHATMOVESU.com. Signing up for the email updates is voluntary. And you or your kids can stop receiving them at any time. Every email we send includes information on unsubscribing from our mailing list. If you or your kids no longer wish to receive an email message, just use this feature to unsubscribe. |
Parental Approval & Review Before registering, kids are first asked to provide their first name, email address and birth date. We collect birth dates to validate the ages of our guests, including kids. If your child indicates that he or she is under age 13, we obtain your consent before continuing the registration process. In order to contact you, we ask your child for your e-mail address. We then attempt to contact you at that e-mail address in order to obtain your consent. If you consent to your child registering, we ask you for your name, address, phone number and your child’s email address to allow us to contact you, if necessary, regarding your child’s participation in the WHATMOVESU.com website, to confirm your identity should you wish to contact us, and to confirm a child’s eligibility should they win certain contests. If you do not want your child to register, we delete any information that we have collected about them.
Parents at any time can send an email to help@WHATMOVESU.com to review the information collected about their child by WHATMOVESU.com, to ask to have that information modified or deleted and to request that their child be removed from mailing lists. |
